Stress & Hoarseness? I would like to know is there is any relation to stress and an unexplained throat hoarseness, no soreness. Comes on in the afternoon and worsens until bedtime, no other symptoms. What should I do?

As I am sure you know, it is always important that any persistent physical symptoms be evaluated by a physician with expertise in that field. Occasionally, seasonal allergies, smoke, dust, food or chemical sensitivities, muscle tension and shallow breathing, low-grade respiratory infections, vocal fatigue late in the day, vocal chord nodules, or even medications can present some pesky, and occasionally significant, side-effects. It is even possible that the "hoarseness" you have has a simple, fixable, physical cause.. unrelated to stress. So it's good to check it out and either address it..or get some reassurance.
Yoga, Alexander technique and breath-work are used my many singers/actors.
I will follow this email with a previous newsletter filled with quick, easy stress-busters in case they might be helpful.
Day to day stress and even a bit of anxiety can be very normal, and even predictable when going through a challenging time. But when a question of a medical nature is involved, it is wise to talk with a trusted physician who can sit face to face with you, make an assessment and get a better sense of how best to proceed. While I can suggest "stress management" tips, what you are describing really sounds more like it could possibly be a health issue and you would be better advised by a health care professional who could help evaluate and suggest. I could not responsibly advise. I wish I could be more help.
Some previous tips and Q's & A's address stress-related issues. Living with discomfort brings its own stress, so please take a look at the following and see if there's anything there for you.
